March Prompts 2022

Let's take a walk on the wild side!

Here are the four prompts for March:

If you're new to the newsletter, how you interpret the prompts is entirely up to you – the goal is to simply to spark your creativity on those days when you feel stuck. Here are a few loose suggestions to get you started if you're not sure where to begin.

Wild and Free: A colorful toucan perched on a tree. A beautifully detailed snake. Your favorite wildlife quote. The options are endless... let nature inspire you.

Hear Me Roar: "I am woman, hear me roar!" International Women's Day is Tuesday, March 8th. You can use this week's prompt to create a piece celebrating the strength of women. For a more literal approach, you could illustrate any of the jungle-dwelling 'big cats' (tiger, panther, leopard, etc). If you happened to draw a tiger for Lunar New Year last month, feel free to repurpose it ;)

Flora and Foliage: Dense greenery and big bold tropical flowers. You could use this kind of lush imagery as a backdrop to your lettering, make a repeat pattern or illustrate an inviting jungle scene. The options are pretty wide open for this one. Here's a quick Pinterest search to help spark a few ideas (*use images as inspiration only - please don't outright copy anyone's artwork).

Jungle Home: We're bringing it indoors for this one. Whether you illustrate your favorite house plants, letter your favorite plant-related quote or create a lush, leafy pattern, this prompt is all about embracing that #jungalow vibe.

If you use any of the creative prompts and share your work on Instagram, please be sure to use the hashtag #DrawWithGia. Thanks!
