MY DESIGN CAREER: A GUIDED PATH
1999: BFA with honors in Graphic Design,
Georgia State University.
1999-2002: Moved to Chicago. Held positions as a Junior Designer in a small design firm, and as a Studio Designer within a national architecture firm.
2002-2005: Moved back to Atlanta. Worked as a Design Director with a small firm, creating branding and collateral materials for Fortune 500 companies. First opportunity to conceptualize, style and art direct photo shoots for clients.
2005-2007: Left the corporate design world to co-found Paper Dolls Design®, a custom invitation design business. Worked with high-end clients throughout Atlanta.
2007-2014: Shifted from custom invitations to an affordable online wedding collection under the name Betsywhite Stationery®. Worked with brides around the world, from Atlanta to Australia.
2014-2016: As the industry of online wedding stationery began to shift drastically, Betsywhite Stationery® pivoted from wedding products to everyday paper goods. Launched a line of wholesale greeting cards and gift products at the National Stationery Show which went on
to be sold in 250+ stores nationwide and internationally.
2016-2018: Left the wholesale business to become
a stay-at-home mom when my second son was born prematurely at just 2lbs 2oz. Happy to say he is now
a healthy, rambunctious toddler!
2019 and onward: Currently working as a freelance designer, specifically focused on artwork licensing to
the stationery, gift, textile and homeware industries.
